The Liverpool docks are the perfect setting for this kind of photography meetup. We will be starting with an overview of landscape photography technique, how to decide what to take a picture of and how to compose shots, we will then move into settings and more technical challenges to get an idea of when the camera behaves best for landscapes.

I loved my time with Wei-Ting because I learnt so much in that short space of time. She taught me how to really look at a tree and notice the different shapes and how the sunlight created shadows and light. Since Saturday I have been studying trees and the shapes they make and I?ve practiced sketching some from books before I go out for a country walk later in the week. I so look forward to the next tutorial in January.

Title or Location: Ned Kelly gets away with a portion of chips.
I love painting in a naive/ folk art style and of course this is influenced by one of my favorite Artists, Sidney Nolan. In this painting I just wondered, if Ned Kelly was the big, bad outlaw of legend, would he pay for his chips? As well as painting, I am also a published cartoonist having had my work published in Private Eye, Punch, The Oldie, The New Statesman, The Spectator etc, which may explain the cynical humour in much of my work... or not.

This was my first attempt at scraperboard and I was trying to create a picture with dramatic lighting that would make the most of the medium. As it turned out, a lot of the board was left black and untouched to represent the shadows, so it was easier than I thought!

This was a real house on the free site UnSplash that I changed up to get the effect I wanted. I created this in watercolor and wanted to evoke a Christmas Eve scene of the warmth and comfort it feels to stay in on a snowy night with family. I tried to capture the setting sun and the inviting warmth inside with the frigid cold outside. Also while showing how much fun they had making this snowman. Title or Location: The Fragrance of Christ
The Bible says that we are the fragrance of Christ. Some of us are in full bloom. Some are just little buds yet with all potential. We spread the aroma of life in the places that are most in need, such as abundant gardens or wilderness. The beauty attracts attention and brings the message of Christ about life and hope.
